Competition Rules


RULES – ACCORDION SOLO

Each soloist is required to submit three copies of the program that is running before performing it.
The program is performed from memory.

    SUBCATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2016 and younger.
    Free program up to 4 minutes.

    FIRST CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2015.
    Free program for up to 6 minutes.

    SECOND CATEGORIES
    Competitors born in 2014.
    Free program for up to 8 minutes.

    THIRD CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2013.
    Free program for up to 8 minutes.

    FOURTH CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2012.
    Free program lasting up to 10 minutes.

    THE FIFTH CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2011.
    Free program lasting up to 10 minutes.

    SIXTH CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2010.
    Free program lasting up to 12 minutes.

    SEVENTH CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2008 and 2008.
    Free program lasting up to 15 minutes.

    EIGHTH CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2006 and 2007.
    Free program lasting up to 20 minutes.

    NINTH CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2005 and older.
    The program lasting up to 25 minutes:
    - Composition written before year 1800.
    - At least one composition originally written for the accordion.

RULES - CHAMBER MUSIC

Each chamber ensemble is required to submit three copies of the program that is running before performing it. The program can be performed from partiture.
- In the chamber ensemble there can not be more than eight (8) artists. Within can be ensembles with different instruments.
- Chamber ensemble can have only one instrument per part (for example, partiture of 6 parts = 6 instruments)
- It is not allowed to use amplified instruments.

    Competitors born in 2013 and younger.
    Free program for up to 7 minutes.

    SECOND CATEGORY
    Competitors born from 2010 to 2012.
    Free program lasting up to 10 minutes.

    THIRD CATEGORY
    Competitors born from 2006 to 2009.
    Free program lasting up to 15 minutes.

    FOURTH CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2005 and older.
    Free program lasting up to 25 minutes.

RULES – ORCHESTRAS

- Orchestras can apply for the competition regardless of their instrumentation.
Other instruments of any kind may also be included. Compositions for any solo instrument or voice accompanied by accordion orchestra are allowed in the programme.

- Prior to performance every orchestra director or conductor must submit 5 copies of the scores as well as the floor plan of the orchestra.
The program can be performed from partiture.


    FIRST CATEGORY
    Members of the orchestras born in 2010 and younger.
    Free program, duration 7-10 minutes.

    SECOND CATEGORY
    Members of the orchestras born in 2006 to 2009
    Free program, duration 10-15 minutes.

    THIRD CATEGORY
    Members of the orchestras born in 2005 and older. Free program, duration 20-25 minutes.

RULES – VARIETE MUSIC

    FIRST CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2010 and younger
    Free program for up to 7 minutes

    SECOND CATEGORY
    Competitors born from 2006 to 2009
    Free program, for up to 12 minutes

    THIRD CATEGORY
    Competitors born in 2005 and older
    Free program, for up to 18 minutes
